We developed an optical test fixture for
Laser Diagnostics / Carl Zeiss for use in their
manufacturing process. The fixture, under operator control,
cycles a polarization filter through precisely accurate
and predetermined rotational steps. At each step of
rotation, optical power can be measured and evaluated
and adjustments and tests of the GDX under test can
be effected.
We were able to use an off-the-shelf microcontroller from company
manufacturing stock as a readily available platform to
implement the "brains" of the test fixture, thus saving
special fabrication or special component acquisition.
